LinkedIn integration privacy policy

01About this policy

Applecart Digital is a trading name of Apple Cart Investments Pty Ltd (ABN 16 618 439 357), a Microsoft 365 consultancy based in Brisbane, Australia.

We use an integration with LinkedIn so that authorised Applecart Digital staff can publish content to the Applecart Digital LinkedIn Company Page. This policy explains what information that integration accesses and how we handle it, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

02Information we access

When an authorised Applecart Digital representative connects the integration to LinkedIn, it may access:

• the LinkedIn account identification details needed to sign in the authorised user;
• confirmation that the user is allowed to manage the Applecart Digital Company Page;
• Company Page details needed to publish content;
• content created for publication, including text, images, links and other supported media; and
• information LinkedIn returns about content published through the integration.

We request only the permissions needed to publish to our own Company Page. The integration does not access the profiles, connections or messages of other LinkedIn members.

03How we use it

Information accessed through the integration is used only to:

• sign in an authorised Applecart Digital representative;
• confirm they have permission to manage the Applecart Digital Company Page;
• create and publish content to the Company Page;
• operate and maintain the integration; and
• troubleshoot issues and keep the integration secure.

We don't use it for any other purpose, build advertising profiles from it or use it to make decisions about individuals.

04Sharing

We don't sell, rent or share LinkedIn information with third parties for their marketing.

Information may be processed by service providers we need to operate the integration and Applecart Digital's business systems, such as Microsoft. We use them only where necessary and expect them to keep the information secure and confidential. We may also disclose information where required by law.

05Storage and security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information accessed through the integration from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or loss. Access tokens are stored securely, treated as confidential and available only to the people and systems that need them.

06Retention and deletion

We keep information only as long as needed to operate the integration, keep appropriate business records or meet legal obligations.

An authorised representative can disconnect the integration at any time through LinkedIn's application settings. When it's disconnected, we stop using the authorisation and delete the stored access tokens. Other associated information is deleted once it's no longer needed for legitimate business, security or legal purposes.

08Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold, or ask us to delete it, using the contact details below. We'll respond within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the integration, our services or legal requirements. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
